The Institute of Physiology at the University of WĂĽrzburg offers a PhD Position (TV-L 65 %) in the project: Targeting of L-type voltage-gated calcium channels to different subcellular microdomains of cardiac myocytes. The objective of this project is to elucidate the molecular mechanisms targeting L-type voltage-gated calcium channels to different subcellular localizations in cardiac muscle cells. To this aim we use different molecular and cell biology methods, including cloning, expression and purification of recombinant proteins, pull-down assays, immunoprecipitation, immunohistochemistry and confocal and super-resolution microscopy.

We are seeking a highly motivated, creative and talented student with previous experience in molecular and cell biology and/or protein biochemistry and holding a Master in Science degree (MSc) in biology, biochemistry, biomedicine, pharmacy or equivalent.
The position is available from June 2015 and the salary will be according to TV-L.
The University of WĂĽrzburg is an equal opportunities employer and places particular emphasis on fostering career opportunities for women. Qualified women are therefore strongly encouraged to apply. Disabled persons with equivalent aptitude will be favoured.
