SCIENCE-JOBS-DE

From synthesis to biological applications

Five PhD Positions in Nanoscience for the Topical Graduate School "Novel nanoparticles: from synthesis to biological applications" starting at the University of Tübingen in October 2017. Research projects focus on the synthesis and biofunctionalization of novel nanoparticles and their application as probes to detect single biomolecules using cutting edge technologies like preparative co-condensation, super-resolution microscopy, optical tweezers and fast spectroscopy in cells.
We offer a stimulating working environment and excellent scientific infrastructure alongside a structured supporting program.
More details can be found on the web pages of the involved research groups:
Andreas Schnepf, Hans Joachim Schöpe, Martin Oettel and Erik Schäffer.

The prospective candidates for PhD scholarships are required to have a master’s degree in biology, chemistry, physics or nanoscience with a strong interest in interdisciplinary work. Candidates should be fluent in English, highly motivated, intellectually independent, experimentally accurate, have good management skills, and be able to conduct research independently after initial training.

Please send your application (letter of motivation and CV) as one composite pdf-file to the speaker of the school, Prof. Erik Schäffer
(erik.schaeffer@uni-tuebingen.de), and arrange that two recommendation letters are sent directly to the speaker by 5 September 2017. Reviewing of applications will begin immediately. Later applications will be considered until the positions are filled.
