EARLY STAGE RESEARCHERS (PhD) ON BIOCATALYTIC CASCADE REACTIONS (Bochum)

The BIOCASCADES Marie Curie Innovative Training Network for European Industrial Doctorates (ITN-EID) is an interdisciplinary research training network of 7 universities and 5 industrial enterprises from 5 European countries.  It is funded under the “Excellent Science” cluster of the EU’s Horizon 2020 program.  BIOCASCADES aims to develop the ESRs’ scientific expertise to produce excellent research, interdisciplinary collaboration with scientists from different fields (biology, chemistry and engineering) and entrepreneurship.

Applications are invited for eleven (11) Early Stage Researchers (PhD candidates), who have the acumen, enthusiasm and motivation to make a significant contribution to a challenging research in the development of sustainable (chemo) enzymatic cascade reactions.

ESR4: Flow chemistry for synthesis of enantiopure 1,3/1,4-hydroxyaminoacids from prochiral ketoacids
ESR5: Synthesis of enantiopure 1,3/1,4- aminoalcohols from prochiral ketoacids
ESR6: Novel amino donors for efficient equilibrium shift in transaminations
ESR7: Combining amine transaminase and ketoreductase for 1-amino-cyclohexane-4-ol synthesis
ESR8: Transaminase-catalyzed de-racemization cascade reactions
ESR9: Upscaling of ω-transaminase catalyzed cascade reactions for high-value chemicals production
ESR10: Widening the substrate scope of transaminases by protein engineering
ESR11: Amine synthesis by combination of transaminases with Suzuki cross-coupling
