Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m) - Code 1274/2015/2 (Bonn)

The German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) is a center of excellence within the Helmholtz Association that performs translational research on Neurodegenerative Diseases. The center includes nine high-performing sites in Berlin, Bonn, Dresden, Göttingen, Magdeburg, Munich, Rostock/Greifswald, Tübingen and Witten.

Description: The laboratory of “Aging and Neurodegeneration” has two main focuses: 1) molecular mechanisms underlying age-related brain pathologies; 2) metabolic remodeling in animals carrying mitochondrial deficiency.

Qualification: We are inviting applications for one postdoctoral position with the scope of characterizing a newly developed transgenic animal model. The aim is to address the contribution of ATP-dependent nucleosome remodeling in intellectual disabilities and cognitive disorders. The project encompasses a variety of technologies including stereology, confocal laser microscopy, histochemical approaches, cellular biology and biochemistry. Applicants familiar with animal behavior tests, including learning and memory paradigms, are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate is a highly motivated team player.

Employment, payment and social benefits are determined by the Public Sector Collective Agreement (Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst – TvöD). The job location is Bonn. The position is available starting from May 2015 for 1 year with the possibility to extend.
