Postdoctoral Fellow in Cancer/Breast Cancer/Genomic Instability/Cell Biology: Brisbane, Australia
The University of Queensland Diamantina Institute was established in 2007 as the sixth research institute of The University of Queensland. The aim of the Institute is to develop a better understanding of the molecular and cellular basis of disease, and to translate that understanding into practical outcomes for patients. Based at the Translational Research Institute (TRI) at the Princess Alexandra Hospital teaching campus in Brisbane, the Institute has more than 300 researchers and students who work closely with clinicians in the areas of cancer, immunology and genomic medicine. UQDI is the largest partner in TRI and is building major programs in Immunology, Cancer and Genomic Medicine research, with a particular focus on research aimed at development of new treatments. The Project
The successful applicant will conduct interdisciplinary cancer research in the laboratory for a period of 3 years, starting 1 January 2016. The laboratory has a broad interest in translational cancer research (in particular breast cancer), genomic instability, cell cycle regulation and cell biology.
The Candidate
We are seeking candidates who:
- Either hold a PhD degree awarded after 30 June 2010 or will have submitted their PhD thesis by 31 December 2015;
- Have a strong, internationally competitive track record in research in the fields of cancer biology, genomic instability, genetics, genomics, cell biology or cell cycle regulation.
Remuneration
The salary will be in the range of AU$74,042.83 to AU$82,510.25, excluding superannuation, and in accordance with university policy.
