Post-doc position in Peptide Drug Development : Lausanne, Switzerland
A post-doc position is available in the group of Prof. Christian Heinis at theEPFL in Lausanne (http://isic.epfl.ch/lppt). The primary focus of the research group is the development of peptide macrocycle therapeutics using novel chemical and biological techniques. The group is specialized on the screening of combinatorial macrocycle libraries by phage display.
The goal of the post-doc project is the development of peptide therapeutics that can be administered by the oral route. This has been a longstanding goal of the pharmaceutical industry. The post-doctoral student will develop novel methods based on phage display and apply them to generate hyper-stable peptide antagonists to therapeutic targets. The project involves directed evolution (phage display), chemical reaction development, automated peptide synthesis, ligand characterization and biological evaluation.
Applicants need to be highly motivated and able to lead a project independently. They should have a PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology or a related subject.
Entrance date: May-December 2015
To apply for the position, please send a letter of motivation, a CV and a list of references to Prof. Christian Heinis (christian.heinis@epfl.ch).
