Postdoctoral Scientist on Cancer Biology

Salary £28,648 – £30,486 per annum

The Medical Research Council Toxicology Unit, located at the University of Leicester, is an internationally renowned institution delivering field-changing mechanistic insights into toxicology and disease. The Unit is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and offers excellent opportunities for postdoctoral development.

We are looking to appoint a postdoctoral scientist to join the scientific group led by Professor Gerry Melino working on cancer biology with a particular focus on the p53-family. The project will concentrate on high throughput genomics to identify the main alterations in the genomic networks associated to p53 family-dependent metastasis and chemo-resistance phenotypes. The successful candidate will possess a PhD in a relevant discipline and have experience of working with protein and RNA analysis, mammalian cell culture, transient & stable transfections and immunofluorescence.
