PhD Position in Neurobiology : Odense, Denmark
The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Southern Denmark is advertising af PhD position in the field of neurobiology/molecular biology and quantitative proteom analyses, mass spectrometry.
The successful applicant will be responsible for establishing an in vitro blood-brain barrier model in a flow chamber. The focus will be on investigating blood-brain barrier penetration of nanoparticles and assess cellular proteome responses with mass spectrometry-based proteomics and biochemical assays. You should be able to work independently with cell cultures and hold documented experience in working with in vitro models of biological barriers. Experience with quantitative mass spectrometry using either TMT/dimethyl labeling/ITRAQ or equivalent is an advantage. A strong background in one or more of the following fields: neurobiology, cell biology or molecular biology as well as excellent exams are a prerequisite for application submission.
Applicants are expected to be highly motivated, reliable and interested in working in an interdisciplinary and international environment. Finally, a good command of English is a requirement.
Employment starts on 1 September 2015 or soon thereafter.
