Project Information
The project, funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF), sets out to examine the role of a chromatin-remodeling factor in higher brain functions by using conditional knockout models.
Main Responsibilities
•Carry out routine experimental procedures, such as immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemisty, Western blotting, RNA extraction and real-time RT-PCR
•Provide assistance in management of mouse colonies (keeping records, breeding, and genotyping
Requirements
•Proficiency at basic molecular biology techniques (e.g. immunoblotting, real-time RT-PCR)
•Training in histology/microscopy
•Practical experience in working with mice will be an advantage
•Problem solving skills and ability to work independently
•Good communication skills in English
Appointment
The appointment will be for 3 years and the position is available from November 2012.
Salary
The gross monthly salary amounts to € 2.086,90 (according to the Austrian Science Fund guidelines) and includes health insurance and social benefits.
