Applications are invited for a PhD student position in the field of cancer and the cell cycle. Our group studies the DREAM complex and its target genes that play important roles in the regulation of mitosis. The project will focus on the question how DREAM target genes regulate key mitotic events with an emphasis on the mitotic spindle checkpoint and genomic instability. In our research, we use state of the art technologies such as high content RNAi screening, ChIP-seq and advanced animal tumor models. The PhD student will be part of a Graduate School, which offers interdisciplinary practical training, summer schools and retreats, mentoring by a thesis committee of three experts in the field, and a highly stimulating research environment. We are looking for a highly motivated PhD student with a background in biochemistry, cell biology or molecular biology.
