PAIN RESEARCH (Wuerzburg)
The position (Salary according to group TVöD E13 limited for 2 years, begin 10/2015) is available in project of the Dept of Anesthesiology at the University of Würzburg in collaboration with the Institute of Clinical Physiology, Charité Berlin (Dr. S. Krug/Prof. Dr. J. Schul-zke).
Our group is interested in basic mechanisms of inflammatory pain, neuroimmune interactions and barrier function (PNAS 2012 109:E2018-27; J Controll Release 2014 185: 88-98). The project is funded by the Else-Kröner Foundation. We provide a highly stimulating scientific environment and cooperation with experimental and clinical groups at the University of Würzburg and at the Charité Berlin.
The project examines the role and function of blood nerve barrier in neuropathic pain. The project will involve a wide spectrum of molecular methods including cell culture, immunohistochemistry and animal models as well as in vivo pain behavior testing and barrier function in rats and mice. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard working and collaborative person with a strong interest in Cellular Sciences and Neurosciences supplementing our team. Experience in animal behavior, barrier function and neuroscience is desirable, but more important is dedication to science, motivation and teamwork. The candidate is expected to participate in teaching of PhD and MD students in the associated programs.
