An experienced postdoctoral research associate is required for the Healing Foundation Children’s Burns Research Centre, a large multidisciplinary cross-institutional research group led by Professor Alan Emond. The clinical theme of the research center is led by Dr Amber Young. The research associate will undertake research into children’s burns and gain experience in a range of clinical research projects, including clinical trials.

The role provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in being part of a Clinical Research Team within the NHS. The job requires working with people from a wide variety of specialties and contributing to a range of research projects culminating in peer-reviewed publications. The key role will be academic writing including contributing to grant applications, peer reviewed journal papers, trial protocols and IRAS applications, as well as providing advice and support.
You will be expected to work on your own initiative within established policy and practices, seeking guidance and advice where necessary. You will have autonomy and freedom to act independently within organisational policies, and will need to take a high level of responsibility. Liaison will be required with researchers and clinicians in local NHS trusts, University of Bristol and with members of the Healing Foundation Children’s Burns Research Centre at University Hospitals Bristol.

The post-holder will be based at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children in central Bristol, University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. This post will be line managed by the Clinical theme lead of the Centre, Dr Amber Young.
