Role of mast cells in inflammatory diseases (Luebeck, Germany)

A research position for a PhD student (scholarship) is available in the lab of Prof. Dr. Karin Hartmann, Department of Dermatology, University of Luebeck, Germany (http://www.grk1727.uni-luebeck.de/). The position is supported for 36 months by the Research Training Group (RTG) Modulation of Autoimmunity (GRK1727).

The successful candidate will join a young and still growing team and will participate in the analysis of the role of mast cells in inflammatory diseases using recently established mouse models. We employ a wide range of techniques, including generation and analysis of conditional mouse models, immunohistochemistry, primary cell isolation, cell culture, RT-PCR, Southern blotting, Western blotting and flow cytometry.

The University of Luebeck provides a stimulating and dynamic working environment with highly interacting groups and excellent research facilities.

We are looking for a highly motivated scientist holding a M.Sc. degree in biology, biomedicine, pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry or related fields. Prior experience with mouse models or cell biology is an advantage.
