The Leibniz Institute for Molecular Pharmacology (FMP) is an institute of the Research Association Berlin eV (FVB). FVB is the carrier of eight non-university research institutes in Berlin, funded by the Federal Republic of Germany and the countries of the Community. The research institutes are members of the Leibniz Association.
In the Department of Molecular Cell Physiology (Head: Prof. Dr. Ingolf E. Blasig) is now the site for a n / PhD / in
initially limited to occupy for a year.
Responsibilities:
Work on the project "Structure, function and regulation of extracellular domains of tight junction proteins in the modulation of cell barriers modulating peptides". The project involves molecular biology (cloning, expression, protein purification), cell culture (eg immunocytochemistry, paracellular leakage measurements), biochemical (eg immunoblotting), biophysical studies (eg, binding measurements) and in cooperation in vivo studies of recombinant proteins, peptides and small molecules. The derivation and optimization of new drug molecules and their characterization is to contribute to an improved drug permeation through pharmacological barriers.
Prerequisites:
Completed Biomedical degree, preferably in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, biophysics, biology, experience in scientific research techniques in vitro and in vivo, and ability requirements for the synthesis of peptides, work independently, ability to work, English, spoken and written
Desirable:
Minimum knowledge and strong interest in cell biology, microscopy, molecular biology and animal experimental methods for elucidating the structure, function and modulation of cell contact proteins.
