The Berlin School of Integrative Oncology (BSIO) offers a structured 3-year doctoral program jointly educating basic scientists and physicians/medical students in the field of integrative oncology and features excellent research conditions, a comprehensive curriculum and a broad supervision and mentoring network.
Students may also conduct part of their project at one of the school’s renowned international partner institutions.
The BSIO (Director: Prof. Dr. Clemens A. Schmitt), funded within the Excellence Initiative of the German federal and state governments, is planning to award up to
9 PhD positions (Biomedical PhD track; Dr. rer. nat.) and
3 MD scholarships (MD track; Dr. med.).
Eligibility criteria – Biomedical PhD track (Dr. rer. nat):
• M.Sc. in basic sciences or equivalent or
• B.Sc. in basic sciences (fast track) or
• in rare cases: enrolment in medical school/graduation from medical school
Eligibility criteria - MD track (Dr. med.):
• enrolment in medical school or
• graduation from medical school
Further eligibility criteria for all applicants:
• a proof of English proficiency (as English is the graduate school’s official language) (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS or similar tests) and
• 2 reference letters.
The positions will be paid according to the regulations of the civil service collective wage agreement (TV-L Charité; 65% of level E13). There is no tuition fee for the program.
