PhD student position in a Microbiology lab at the Univ Hamburg

Transcriptome and proteome shifts in hydrogen oxidizers under different culture conditions. The position is for 3 years and will be filled by the 01. January 2016. Salary according to TV-L E 13, part-time, 50%

Your duties:
cultivation of hydrogen oxidizers (from deep-sea hydrothermal vents) under microaerophilic and anaerobic conditions. DNA, RNA and proteins will be extracted from the different cultivation conditions. The respective transcriptome and proteome will be analyzed. The position
also includes involvement in teaching (one 3-week praktikum a year) (2 LVS).


Your profile:
hold a Masters degree in biology or a similar scientific field. Have experience in gentic and biochemistry methods. Experience with proteinextraction and 2D gel electrophoresis are important assets.
