Project Description:
The PhD student will investigate disease mechanisms and novel therapeutic strategies in cystic fibrosis and related chronic inflammatory lung diseases. Studies will include pharmacologic and cell based approaches in cultured cells, animal models and tissues from CF patients.
This project is embedded in the inspiring environment of the German Center for Lung Research (DZL; http://www.dzg-lungenforschung.de), an association of the leading lung research institutions in Germany providing excellent opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and training in cystic fibrosis research.
Methods that will be used:
electrophysiology, confocal microscopy, cell culture and state-of-the-art molecular biology techniques
Collaboration Partners:
Members of the DZL
Profile of candidates qualification:
Prior experience in electrophysiology, confocal microscopy, molecular and cell biology techniques, cell culture and animal handling are desirable.
