The Universities of Heidelberg (Germany) and Groningen (the Netherlands) in cooperation with Sanofi are jointly opening up an International Graduate School with the scientific focus on Diabetic Microvascular Complications (DIAMICOM). The research program being divided into the four workpackages: mechanisms, eye, kidney, and nerve is combined with an excellent educational program including theoretical and practical courses. The German Research Foundation (DFG) provides funding (36 months according to TV-L E13, Stufe 2 (65%) for

The main objective of DIAMICOM is to provide the graduate with highly qualified resources for research and teaching. The scientific projects will be matched by a program of seminars, state-of-the-art lectures and workshops, both in Groningen and Mannheim. Students are expected to spend time at both locations. We are looking for applicants with excellent qualifications in life sciences
