The division of Bioinformatics and Systems Cardiology at the Klaus Tschira Institute for Integrative Computational Cardiology /
Center of Internal Medicine III, seeks to fill two positions:

Postdoc Bioinformatics (m/f) / Systems Cardiology (m/f
(full-time)



The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and collaborative bioinformatics team in an excellent scientific environment. The Dieterich Lab is focused on post-transcriptional gene regulation
and cardiovascular diseases. Especially novel technologies in
nucleic acids sequencing, mass spectrometry and imaging provide
high-throughput data at an unprecedented depth and level of detail.
The Dieterich Lab exploits these data source to leverage and deepen our understanding of post-transcriptional gene regulation on a systemic level with a focus on cardiovascular disease.

Tasks
•Expanding our research activities in the field of computational
 RNA Biology with an emphasis on ncRNAs, RNA-binding proteins,
 post-transcriptional control and RNA modifications
•Computational method development
•Data analysis, integration and modeling from different data
 sources and systems (animal models and patient data)
•Supervision of students


Required Qualifications

•Applicants should have a PhD in computer science, bioinformatics,
 statistics or a comparable relevant background and level of
 expertise. A solid background in basic RNA biology and
 bioinformatics algorithms is essential. Programming skills are
 essential.
•Proficiency in handling large-scale scientific data sets and
 working in cluster computing environments. Fluent spoken and
 written English is expected. Your technical expertise is
 complemented by essential soft skills, the ability to communicate
 and work in teams, flexibility and targeted action.
