Postdoctoral Researcher : Minneapolis, MN, United States
Postdoctoral positions are available to study the mechanisms of novel, synthetic innate immune stimulatory small molecules and their evaluation in in vitro and in vivo assay platforms as potential vaccine adjuvants in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN.
Small-molecule agonists have been identified for Toll-like receptors TLR7, TLR8, TLR4 and TLR2 thus far, and chemotypes other than those of canonical ligands are yet to be explored for a number of innate immune receptors. The discovery of novel immunostimulatory molecules would enhance the repertoire of tools available for interrogating innate immune effector mechanisms and provide additional venues for vaccine adjuvant development. We are currently using large panels of reporter cell-based assays, several secondary screen platforms, and transcriptomal analyses (RNAseq), as well as immunological, structural biological and chemical biological approaches in characterizing these new compounds.
