A POSTDOCTORAL POSITION to investigate the functions of recently-identified psychiatric disorder risk genes in synaptic circuits is available at Northwestern University in Chicago (Russell et al., 2014, Nature Communicatons 5, 4858; Smith et al., 2014, Neuron 84, 399; Varea et al., PNAS 112, 6176). Strong background in molecular and cell biology and/or neuroscience is required. Enthusiastic applicants with a recent Ph.D. and experience in advanced imaging, optogenetics, electrophysiology, molecular biology, cell biology or systems biology are strongly encouraged to apply. Projects will employ cutting-edge approaches including advanced imaging methods, superresolution imaging, optogenetics, and iPSC-derived neurons.
