Postdoctoral Position: Bronx, NY, United States
A postdoctoral position is available immediately for a recent PhD in the area of mammalian developmental genetics in the laboratory of Dr. Bernice Morrow. The goal of our lab is to understand the cause of structural birth defects connected to human 22q11.2 deletion syndrome/DiGeorge syndrome. The lab uses mouse models and human genetic approaches to achieve this goal. Two genes mapping to the 22q11.2 region, TBX1, encoding a transcription factor and CRKL, encoding a cytoplasmic adaptor protein for MAPK signaling are required for embryonic development. Our lab is performing gene expression profiling from conditional mutant mouse embryos to identify differentially expressed genes. We plan to test these genes for mutations in whole exome sequence data generated from 22q11.2 deletion syndrome patients.
