Chico State's Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for an academic year tenure-track position in Animal Cell Physiology to begin August 2017.
California State University, Chico is seeking faculty who are competent in their field, collaborative with colleagues and staff, and committed to student success. Position is contingent on funding.
Minimum Education and Experience:
The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is a Ph.D. in Molecular/Cell Biology or Physiology. Candidates nearing completion of the doctorate may be considered; however, the doctorate must be complete prior to the appointment to a tenure-track position.

Additional Requirements and Responsibilities for this position:
Candidates should be committed to teaching excellence and to building a strong research & publication record. Instructional assignments will be consistent with the programmatic needs of the department and students.
The primary professional responsibilities of instructional faculty members are: teaching, research and scholarship with graduate and undergraduate students, and service to the University, profession and to the community. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: advising students, participation in campus and system-wide committees, maintaining office hours, working collaboratively and productively with colleagues, and participation in traditional academic functions.
Recruitment Preferences:
- Postdoctoral experience and additional expertise in areas of specialty as well as evidence of teaching proficiency
- Candidates who can interact with current faculty in cell biology, immunology, virology and biochemistry, are especially sought
- Research expertise to help run and upgrade research/teaching facilities in cell biology or molecular biology
