Postdoc Position in CRISPR-Cas biology
for a full-time employment (39 hours/week) of initially 2 years.
Job* description*:
Our department is looking for highly motivated postdoctoral candidates with strong back-ground in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry or microbiology to work on the characterization of the molecular details of RNA-mediated CRISPR-Cas.
Prerequisites:
- PhD in Biochemistry, Genetics, Microbiology, Molecular Biology or related fields
- Experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology and/or genome editing will be considered as an advantage. Particularly prior expertise in the fields of CRISPR-Cas biology or genome editing is highly desirable
- An excellent record of publications in highly respected international scientific journals
- Ability to work in a highly competitive field of research
- Ability to multi-task and to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of an international team and multidisciplinary consortia, lead projects related to the offered topics
- Excellent organisational and coordination skills, structured with personal initiative
- Student supervision and teaching skills
- Perfect English communication skills (written and spoken)
- The candidate must have a profound interest in all research topics of the Department.
- Experience abroad is considered as an advantage.
- We expect a person who is self-motivated and enthusiastic to work in a competitive, dynamic, stimulating and interacting international scientific environment focusing on basic biological research.
According to the training, qualifications and professional experience, the remuneration can be up to EG 14 TVöD. The benefits correspond to the regulations of the public service. The position is available at the earliest possible date.
