The Center for Innovation Competence - Humoral Immune Response in Cardiovascular Diseases (ZIK HIKE) at the University of Greifswald, Germany is supported by "Entrepreneurial Regions - The BMBF Innovation Initiative for the New German Länder”. The aim of the center is to develop the basis for new diagnostic techniques and strategies for therapeutic interventions in cardiovascular diseases, which are mediated by antibodies.
We are looking for a Postdoctoral Scientist, gene expression analysis in single cells.
This full-time position is available immediately and is funded until 12/31/2014. The salary will be EG 13 or EG 14 TV-UMN (Wissenschaft) depending on previous experience.
The "Cell Response" group studies the model diseases heparin-induced thrombocytopenia and dilated cardiomyopathy both in vitro/ex vivo and in animal models to explore the relationship between structural changes of proteins and their complexes, and the induction of an immune response. For this task, we are looking for a postdoctoral scientist with interest in interdisciplinary work in the fields of immunology and biophysics.
To strengthen existing projects we are searching for someone with experience with gene expression analysis, preferable in single cells. The goal is to characterize and identify subsets of antigen-specific B cells.
In addition to general cell biology, molecular biology and biochemistry skills, experience with B cell immunology is advantageous.
State-of-the-art facilities for single cell analysis (FACS Aria III, AmpliGrid, Fluidigm Biomark system etc.) are available at the center.
