The Department of Hematology, Oncology, Hemostaseology and Stem Cell Transplantation offers a
PhD student position (Biology, Biochemistry, Life Science)
available from the 3rd of April 2017. The position ist offered on a temporary contract for 2 years and is renewable for one year. It is a part time position (25,0 h/w). The successful candidate has the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree. The salary correspondes to level TV-L 13.
Our research area comprises the pathogenesis of hematopoietic malignant diseases and has a strong focus on the biology of disease-initiating stem cells. The selected candidate will study the role of therapy-persisting TNF-α signaling in leukemic stem cells and the effect of targeted TNF-α inhibition malignant stem cell survival. During this project, the candidate will utilize techniques from many fields such as biochemistry, molecular biology, mouse genetics and state of the art imaging.
Applicants hold:
a diploma/ master degree in biochemistry, biology or related Life Science disciplines
excellent track record with a strong background in biochemistry, tumor cell biology and molecular biology
great enthusiasm for oncology research and the ability to work independently
experience in (cancer) mouse models is highly advantageous but not required
excellent command of English and the ability to work in a team
