Immunology/Molecular Biology Postdoctoral Researcher Position w/ Vance Fowler, MD : Durham, NC, United States
A postdoctoral position is available immediately to study the molecular mechanisms of interactions between human and Staphylococcus aureus. Specifically, the ideal candidate will investigate human genetic and immune profiles during antibiotic treatment of S. aureus bacteremia (SAB). He or she will perform genomic & transcriptional analysis combined with immunophenotyping to define differential host genetic and immune responses that drive the development of antibiotic resistance during glycopeptide antibiotic treatment.
Successful candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, immunology or a related discipline. A strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology or immunology is preferred. Prior experience in microbial pathogenesis, immunology and animal models is important but not necessary. Strong organizational and oral/written communication skills are desirable.
