Bioengineer for the Single Cell and Microfluidics Core Facility: Leuven, Belgium

Description
The VIB Center for Brain and Disease Research at the KU Leuven is seeking a highly motivated bioengineer or biotechnologist to run and coordinate all our single-cell sequencing experiments in the Department. You will setup, optimize, and maintain multiple single-cell technologies, with a strong focus on single-cell RNA-seq. This includes droplet microfluidics and robotic fluid handling technologies.
You will communicate with PhD students and postdocs from multiple research groups, working mostly on brain-related single-cell studies. Your experiments will start with sample dissociation (e.g., FACS sorting), followed by single-cell assays, up to the next-generation sequencing of the single-cell libraries.
Profile
- PhD in Bio-engineering, Life Sciences, Engineering, Biomedical Science, or equivalent by experience.
- Experience with one of these techniques is required, more is a plus: next-generation sequencing, single-cell sequencing, imaging, fluid handling robotics, microfluidics.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
