Postdoctoral Position in oncology/biochemistry/cell biology (f/m): Munich, Germany
The Department of Virology (chair: Prof. Oliver T. Keppler) of the Max von Pettenkofer-Institute at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich offers a
Postdoctoral Position in oncology/biochemistry/cell biology
for initially two years starting April 2017 in the laboratory of Prof. Oliver T. Keppler.
We have recently reported the role of the triphosphohydrolase SAMHD1 as a determinant of chemoresistance in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) (Schneider et al., Nature Medicine, Dec 19. doi: 10.1038/nm.4255 (2016)). We now seek to gain further insight into the molecular mechanisms and complex regulation of nucleotide metabolism by SAMHD1. Moreover, findings in AML will be extended to other types of cancer and will include genetic and immunological analysis of primary tumor cells, gene editing approaches and relevant small animal models.
The successful candidate will have an outstanding publication record and practical experience in oncology. Previous work with primary cells, molecular biology, biochemistry and mouse models will be of advantage.
We expect a strong interest in translational, interdisciplinary oncology, the ability to perform creative and independent research, and a very high level of motivation. We offer interesting research topics with high biomedical relevance in a stimulating and interactive scientific environment at an internationally competitive level. The research campus in Großhadern/Martinsried offers a world-class scientific environment and access to core facilities.
Please send your applications with full CV including list of publications, letter of motivation, and references until January 31, 2017 to keppler@mvp.uni-muenchen.de.
