Neurobiology of stress response

Applications are invited for a joint postdoctoral researcher position between the laboratories of PD Dr. Vijay Tiwari (www.imb-mainz.de/research-at-imb/tiwari) and Prof. Dr. Beat Lutz (http://www.unimedizin-mainz.de/physiolchemie/research/prof-dr-b-lutz.html?L=1). The successful applicant will contribute to internationally competitive research on uncovering neural subpopulations and transcriptional networks underlying stress resilience. The groups employ high-throughput genomics assays in combination with neurobiology including behavioural assays. The resulting datasets are analysed using computational and systems biology approaches to generate comprehensive models of gene regulatory program underlying stress response.

Required qualifications
• PhD in neurobiology, molecular biology, biochemistry or developmental biology
• Strong experience in at least one of the following areas: neurobiology, epigenetics, genomics
• Experience in performing animal experiments in particular mouse as a model system
• At least one first author paper in an international peer reviewed journal
• Good written and spoken English
• Interest in working in a multidisciplinary team
• Competitiveness at the international level and willing to collaborate with internal and external collaborators as well as supporting other group members
