Postdoctoral Fellow - Mass Spectrometry and Structural Proteomics : Heidelberg
Job Description
The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is one of the highest ranked scientific research organisations in the world. The Headquarters Laboratory is located in Heidelberg (Germany), with additional sites in Grenoble (France), Hamburg (Germany), Hinxton (UK) and Monterotondo (Italy).
A postdoctoral position is available in the Beck laboratory in the area of in situ structural biology and mass spectrometry based proteomics. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment together with structural biologists and cell biologists to study macromolecular complexes. The development of methods for the application of quantitative and cross-linking mass spectrometry to complex samples are an essential aspect of the project. Experience in at least one of the following areas will be an advantage: RNA-localization, mass spectrometry based proteomics and computational algorithms for the interpretation of large systems-wide data sets. Access to state of the art mass spectrometry equipment is available at EMBL. An initial contract of 2 years will be offered to the successful candidate but more long-term funding for an optional extension has been secured.
