Two PhD scholarships are available within immunology with focus on development of immunotherapeutics and drug delivery systems : 2800 Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark

DTU Nanotech (Department of Micro- and Naotechnology), is an international research and education nanoscience Department based at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). DTU Nanotech undertakes interdisciplinary research involving scientists from relevant areas in physics, chemistry, molecular biology and engineering.

At the Colloids & Biological Interface Group (CBIO), we are searching for two highly motivated Phd Students with strong ambition and commitment to a productive environment. The CBIO is a world leading international environment in biomaterials and biomedical engineering that particular focuses on development of new drug delivery systems.

Responsibilities and tasks
The two PhD scholarships are available with focus on development of drug delivery systems that target immune cells to induce anti-cancer responses. The focus in the project is to investigate targeting of immune cell subsets, evaluate cellular immune responses and investigate immune cell polarization in tumor tissue. The projects are very challenging and requires the best students with strong academic minds and “good hands”. The projects are carried out in collaboration with small biotech companies. The candidates should have a background in immunology or similar experience.

Qualifications
Candidates should have a master's degree in organic chemistry, or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to the master's degree in engineering.

Approval and Enrolment
The scholarships for the PhD degree are subject to academic approval, and the candidates will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes of DTU. For information about the general requirements for enrolment and the general planning of the scholarship studies, please see the DTU PhD Guide.
