Postdoctoral Position in Molecular Cell Biology
starting from August 2017. The position is initially available for 3 years with the possibility of extension. Payment is based on the German federal public service scale TV-L.
Research in the Buchberger lab is focused on the ubiquitin proteasome system. Projects for the announced position are aimed at elucidating molecular and cellular functions of the chaperone-like ATPase Cdc48/p97 and its cofactors. Work will cover a broad range of state-of-the-art methods in molecular cell biology and protein biochemistry.
We are seeking a highly qualified, enthusiastic scientist holding a Ph.D. degree and M.Sc. or equivalent degree with a suitable background in the life sciences. The ideal candidate has a solid background in biochemistry and cell biology, a strong publication record, high motivation, good communication skills and the ability to work in a team. Prior experiences in ubiquitin research and yeast techniques are advantageous. An active participation in the DFG-funded Research Training Group GRK2243 "Understanding Ubiquitylation: From Molecular Mechanisms to Disease" as an associated member will be expected.
