The protein phosphatase PP2A as a potential therapeutic target in neuroblastoma
The position is available immediately in the Section of Experimental Pediatric Oncology within the large research laboratory of the Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (Head: Prof. Dr. Klaus-Michael Debatin). We have successfully knocked out and silenced two genes crucial for the function of the PP2A complex. The aim of the thesis is to investigate the functional consequences of these knock-outs and knock-downs.
Methoden:
Using the existing knock-out and knock-down neuroblastoma cells and creating new ones, the master student will investigate the impact of the edited genes on known oncogenic pathways and on the cells’ proliferation, cell cycle, death, clonogenicity, migration and chemosensitivity using established in vitro methods.
