This exciting project will establish state of the art 3D colon cancer culture (organoid culture) from patient samples to test our hypothesis that this ex vivo model system will demonstrate much needed early evidence of pre-clinical utility enabling stratification of anti-cancer agents according to tumour phenotypes.
You will join established laboratories with an excellent track record in supporting PhD studentships within our Cancer Studies programme. The establishment in 2009 of the Cardiff Cancer Research UK Centre reflects the high standard of basic and clinical science within Cardiff University and aims to drive the knowledge that has been gained to patient benefit
Cancer Research UK also funds a number of PhD Studentships and Clinical Fellowships within the programme and you will mix with a wide variety students and post-doctoral scientists. More information can be found about cancer research in Cardiff by visiting our Cancer Studies PhD programme page and our Cancer and Genetics postgraduate research page.
