Scientist II, Molecular Biology
Biochemists and Molecular Biologists are needed to develop next generation sequencing methodologies. The individual will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for advancing the workflow procedures for genome-based instrument systems. Must be able to independently design and execute experiments, and rapidly disseminate key findings.
Education and Experience
- B.S. or M.S. in molecular biology, chemistry or equivalent disciplines. At least 2 years of experience in commercial assay development setting.
- Extensive understanding and experience with PCR amplification, DNA modifying enzymes, and other relevant molecular biology techniques are essential.
- Experience in developing instrument systems and platforms is preferred. Prior experience with solid-phase amplification techniques is a plus.
- Experience with complex data analysis is also a plus.
- Candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and be able to work productively with others in disciplines that include engineering, computer science, and chemistry as necessary.
- In addition, excellent communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills are required.
- The incumbent must be proactive with strong analytical and laboratory skills.
