Research assistant/Ph.D (Darmstadt)
The Computational Biology and Simulation group invites applications for
a research assistant/Ph.D. student position. The PhD degree can be
awarded either in computer science or biology.
The research effort is part of the BMBF-funded HiGHmed consortium and
will focus on the cryptographically assurance of
bioinformatics/biostatistical procedures to maintain privacy of patients in medical research and care.
Ideally, you have a background (M.Sc. degree) in computer science,
bioinformatics, mathematics, or statistics. Willingness to acquire
additional know-how, e.g., human genetics, is mandatory, as well as the
ability to work in an interdisciplinary setting together with, e.g.,
biomedical researchers and clinicians.
The position is suppossed to be filled as soon as possible, as the
projects runs from Jan.2018 to 2021. The successful applicant will be
hired for a first phase until June 2019, subject to extension upon
satisfactory performance.
