The Center for Innovation Competence - Humoral Immune Response in Cardiovascular Diseases (ZIK HIKE) at the University of Greifswald, Germany is supported by "Entrepreneurial Regions - The BMBF Innovation Initiative for the New German Länder”. The aim of the center is to develop the basis for new diagnostic techniques and strategies for therapeutic interventions in cardiovascular diseases, which are mediated by antibodies.

Postdoctoral Scientist, Immunology.
This full-time position is available immediately and is funded until 12/31/2014. The salary will be EG 13 or EG 14 TV-UMN (Wissenschaft) depending on previous experience.
The "Cell Response" group studies the model disease dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) in vitro/ex vivo and in animal models to explore the relationship between structural changes of proteins and their complexes, and the induction of an immune response. For this task, we are looking for a postdoctoral scientist with an interest in interdisciplinary work in the fields of immunology and biophysics.
To continue the DCM project we are looking for someone with experience in mouse work, cell culture, flow cytometry, and ELISA/EliSpot, who can work independently.
In addition to general cell biology, molecular biology and biochemistry skills experience in the analysis of immune cells, especially in the regulation of immune response of B lymphocytes to integrate with the existing team are advantageous.
State-of-the-art facilities for immunological studies (flow cytometer (BD LSR II), cell sorter (Aria III), imaging flow cytometer (Amnis IS-X), EliSpot-Reader, confocal microscope, real-time PCR machine etc.) are available at the center.
