We are looking for highly motivated PhD students who are interested in interdisciplinary research project in Neural Engineering at the Department of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering in City University of Hong Kong. We are a young lab interested in various aspects of neuroprosthetics and neural network computation.

Interested students with backgrounds in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience/Biology, Mechanical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or related area are strongly encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to applicants with Master’s degree or at his/her final year of master program, but outstanding candidates with a good honor Bachelor’s degree are also welcome to apply.

The candidates should have strong interest in interdisciplinary research and highly motivated, with experience in one or more of the following area:
1. Electrophysiology and animal stereotaxic experiment
2. Neuronal cell culture
3. Optogenetics
4. Machine learning/Reinforcement learning

PhD studentships are available at a monthly stipend of $HK 14,400 .
