The Stem cell Institute Leuven (Prof. Catherine Verfaillie) is inviting applications from highly motivated and experienced molecular biologists with cell biology background.
Our research group focuses on the generation of induced pluripotent stem cells from patients, to use iPSC derived progeny in disease modeling and drug screening experiments. This includes genetic correction of molecular defects underlying the disease phenotype and genetic modification to allow mode of action evaluation of toxic effects or to follow intracellular proteins with high content imaging. The latter requires excellent molecular skills to accomplish homologous recombination in iPSC.
Applicants should have completed a PhD in molecular biology or cell biology. They should have extensive experience molecular biology methods, including cloning and homologous recombination, and cell biology. Successful candidates well also have excellent publications in high impact factor journals to be competitive for national or international postdoctoral fellow awards.
The Stem Cell Institute, which has been recently relocated to a custom build building, offers a challenging and well-equipped research environment with excellent research facilities. The salary will be in accordance with the University salary scales for post-doctoral researchers.
Full applications including curriculum vitae, a motivation letter and contact information of 2 senior researchers willing to write a recommendation letter should be sent to Christina Vochten (Christina.Vochten@med.kuleuven.be)….
