Post-doc position in materials research and development : Donostia / San Sebastián, Spain

The Nanoscience Cooperative Research Center CIC nanoGUNE (www.nanogune.eu) invites applications for a post-doctoral position in the field of materials research and development. The prospective candidate will work in the field of vapor phase coatings, specifically by atomic layer deposition (ALD), with strong emphasis on applications. The candidate is expected to establish relations with the private sector, promote the present activities, and acquire contracts for technology transfer, development, and/or service.

The initial appointment is a fixed-term post-doctoral position for one year. If the establishment of interactions with the private sector were proven successful, this post-doctoral appointment might be extended to a permanent position at a new spin-off company.

The candidate should have a PhD in chemistry, physics, materials science, or any related field, with a strong background in coating technologies, preferably ALD. Further, the candidate should be skilled in handling fundamental problems related to coatings from a scientific as well as engineering point of view. In view of the expected interaction with costumers, fluency in Spanish and English is of importance and expected.
