PhD position in Cell Biophysics in Paris, France : Paris, France
We are looking for a highly motivated and talented PhD student, to start a project in 2014 on the biophysics of cell polarity and morphogenesis in fission yeast. Our laboratory is interested in basic questions of cell morphogenesis and cellular spatial organization; and we integrate approaches from experimental and theoretical physics with imaging and yeast genetics, for references see: Minc et al, Cell 2011, Minc and Chang Curr Biol 2010, Minc et al Curr Biol 2009. This PhD will be integrated in a European network in fungal cell biology, and the student will have the opportunity to closely interact with top scientists in this field , throughout the duration of the project.
Qualification
Applicants should have a good background in cell biology , imaging and/or quantitative approaches (computational biology or biophysics). The applicant must hold a master at the date of PhD start, and must not have resided more than 12 months in the past 3 years in France.
Salary
A very generous salary of 38 000 euros /year + a living allowance will be given to the selected candidate for a duration of 3 years.
