Postdoctoral Research Position (79106 Freiburg, Germany)
The Tumor Angiogenesis Research Group at the Department of Neurosurgery, University Medical Center Freiburg, is seeking applicants for a Postdoctoral Research Position.
The central goal of our work is to understand how inflammatory infiltrating cells contribute to the tumor angiogenesis and tumor growth. A further specific goal is to evaluate the activation of the pro-tumorigenic functions of macrophages by the tumor microenvironment. Studies will be centered both on cell culture systems and in vivo tumor models.
The successful candidate:
- has a degree in a biological field
- is interested in translational cancer research
- has practical experience in tumor models, cell and molecular biology
- a background in macrophage / microglia and vascular biology is
desirable
- is highly motivated and able to work independently
- is enthusiastic about participating in building up a new research
group
The position is available immediately with funding for 2 years.
