PhD in Cell/Developmental Biology : Regensburg, Germany
We are looking for a highly motivated PhD-student, experiences with mammalian cell culture (and or mouse model) or Drosophila genetics are preferred.
In the project the PhD student is going to work on, we are focussing on the regulation of Myosin dynamics in the establishment and maintenance of cell polarity as well as during migration of cells.
As model system we are using Drosophila polarized tissues, namely ectodermal epithelial cells of the epidermis, the follicle cell epithelium and neural stem cells (Neuroblasts) as well as mammalian cell culture (HeLa, U2OS, MDCK, 3D-cyst formation models).
The project involves several techniques in molecular biology (e.g. cloning, mutagenesis), biochemistry (Co-immunoprecipitation, Western Blotting, Kinase Assays, protein pulldowns, etc.) and cell biology (Immunostainings, Confocal laser microscopy)
The position is available from 15.04.2014. Candidates should have obtained their Master/Diplom in Biology/Molecular Biology/Biochemistry. The salary is according to TV-L (TVL13/50%).
