Postdoctoral Research Associate
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the new Receptor Dynamics in Cancer Group led by Dr Mark Morgan in the Institute of Translational Medicine. The primary focus of the group is to determine how tumour and stromal cells sense, interpret and respond to their extracellular microenvironment in cancer. We are particularly interested in how adhesion and growth factor receptor signalling and trafficking are integrated to drive cancer progression.
You will aim to delineate the molecular mechanisms that promote angiogenesis and cellular responses to molecular therapeutics. You will employ novel proteomic strategies to define the dynamic signalling networks recruited to pro-angiogenic integrins in endothelial cells. Using these findings, you will use a range of live-cell imaging techniques to determine the impact of key regulatory mechanisms on cellular processes that drive angiogenesis.
You should have a PhD in a relevant discipline with experience of cellular and/or molecular experimental techniques. Experience in proteomics, live-cell confocal microscopy or models of cancer/angiogenesis is desirable. The post is available for 3 years.
