Postdoctoral Research in Stem Cell Biology at the University of Wisconsin Madison.
Postdoctoral positions are available immediately in the Su-Chun Zhang laboratory at the University of Wisconsin-Madison to work on NIH-sponsored research projects in following areas: (1) neural stem/progenitor cell self-renewal /reprogramming (Lu J et al., Cell Reports, 2013; Krencik R et al., Nature Biotechnology 2011; Zhang X et al., Cell Stem Cell, 2000), (2) modeling neuropathological processes / drug discovery using human stem cells (Chen H et al., Cell Stem Cell, 2014; Weick J et al., PNAS 2013), and (3) functional dissection / therapeutic implication of human neural cells in neurological conditions (Liu Y et al., Nature Biotechnology 2013, Emborg ME et al., Cell Reports 2013; Ma L et al., Cell Stem Cell, 2012; Weick J et al., PNAS 2011). PhD or equivalents in cell / molecular / developmental biology, neuroscience, or chemistry is required. Experiences in small molecule/chemical screening, live cell imaging, optogenetics, single cell profiling, bioinformatics, and/or small animal microsurgery are highly desirable.
