The DFG-funded International Research Training Group “Enzymes and multienzyme complexes acting on nucleic acids” (Internationales Graduiertenkolleg GRK 1384) offers from 01.07.2014 (and later, see below)

3 doctoral positions

The IRTG is located at the Justus-Liebig-University Giessen and the Philipps-University Marburg, Germany, and is part of a collaborative network with a respective training group at the M.V. Lomonosov-University and the Russian Academy of Science, Moscow, Russian Federation.

We offer a challenging scientific and educational programme comprising training courses, seminar series, specialized international workshops, extended stays in partner laboratories abroad, complementary training courses, ongoing assessment of progress and success, and a visiting professor programme.

Doctoral projects in the following groups are offered:

•       Peter Friedhoff (from 1.07.2014): Structure of the MutS-MutL-DNA complex
•       Gabriele Klug (from 1.07.2014): Function of the archaeal exosome in RNA degradation and polyadenylation
•       John Ziebuhr (from 1.09.2014): Activities and interactions of coronavirus replicative enzymes

Prerequisite: M.Sc. or Diploma degree in any life sciences or related fields.

Courses in the doctoral programme are taught in English.

The duration of the offered position (TV-H E13/2) varies as it will be until the 30th of September 2015 with the option to prolong another year.
