PhD in Neuroscience : Dublin, Ireland
A PhD studentship is available in the Centre for the Study of Neurological Disorders, at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, under the supervision of Dr Tobias Engel.
The project will explore the molecular function and causal role of microRNAs in neurodegeneration in pre-clinical animal models. Training and research will feature high-throughput gene expression profiling, RNAseq, bioinformatics, cell culture, confocal microscopy, histology, and animal models of neurodegenerative diseases. Applicants should have (or be expected to be awarded) a first class/upper second class honours degree (or equivalent) in neuroscience, biochemistry or an equivalent discipline.
