A postdoctoral position is available immediately in Dr. Ed Conway’s lab at the Centre for Blood Research (CBR), University of British Columbia (UBC), in Vancouver, Canada.
Dr. Conway’s research is focused on delineating the molecular and biochemical links between complement and coagulation and the vascular endothelium, with emphasis on establishing physiologic relevance in mouse models of human disease. We have several animal models including for example, age-related macular degeneration, inflammatory arthritis, sepsis, colitis, pneumonitis and Alzheimer’s disease, as well as access to repositories of human clinical specimens.
Dr. Conway is currently seeking applicants with a PhD and/or an MD with a background in biochemistry and/or cellular/molecular biology, preferably with some experience with small animal modeling. Several funded projects are currently being conducted in his lab involving complement-mediated diseases, adipose metabolism, hemophilia, thrombosis, and cancer. Collaborative efforts are also underway with other leading investigators using an array of cutting-edge methods.
Preference will be given to applicants with publications in good journals.
